Trauma-Informed Therapist | EMDR Trained
I believe that healing begins when individuals feel safe, heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, authenticity, and the understanding that everyone’s journey is unique. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.
With over 20 years of experience in the human services field and nearly a decade as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. My professional background includes community-based mental health services, school social work, family support, and clinical counseling. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful change happens through connection, trust, and collaboration.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and have a particular passion for helping individuals navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship challenges, and difficult life transitions. My clinical approach integrates EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, play-based interventions, and other evidence-based, trauma-informed practices.
My work with children and adolescents holds a special place in my heart. I recognize that children often communicate their emotions through behaviors rather than words. I focus on understanding what those behaviors are communicating while helping children develop emotional awareness, healthy coping skills, confidence, and stronger relationships. I also value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers, recognizing the important role family relationships play in a child’s emotional well-being.
When working with adults, I strive to help clients better understand themselves, recognize patterns that may no longer serve them, process difficult experiences, and develop the tools needed to move forward. I believe therapy is not about fixing someone, but rather helping individuals recognize their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful changes in their lives.
I also believe that growth requires reflection, accountability, and self-compassion. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I encourage clients to approach their experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. Sometimes growth involves difficult conversations, stepping outside our comfort zones, and challenging patterns that are no longer serving us. I believe these moments, when approached with compassion and support, can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
Above all, I want my clients to know they do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you are seeking support for yourself or your child, my goal is to provide a space where you feel empowered, supported, and hopeful about the possibilities ahead.
A Little About Me
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, camping, and crocheting. These activities allow me to slow down, recharge, and appreciate life’s simple moments. I also have a strong passion for learning and personal growth. I am continually seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge, develop new clinical skills, and explore therapeutic techniques that allow me to grow both personally and professionally. I believe that just as I encourage my clients to embrace growth and change, it is equally important for me to continue challenging myself and evolving as a therapist.
Healing is not always linear, but every step forward matters.
