Hi, I’m Kate! I’m a mental health counselor who works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples.
Prior to transitioning into private practice, I spent four years as a school counselor in public education,
where I developed a strong understanding of the social, emotional, academic, and family challenges that can impact children and adolescents.
I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself, and I strive to hold space that feels genuine, supportive, and nonjudgmental. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, incorporating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also valuing humor, creativity, and authentic connection.
I have experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and everyday stress. Much of my work focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping skills, identify their values and needs, strengthen communication, and establish healthy boundaries.
Above all, I believe counseling should feel human. My goal is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, helping you feel heard and understood while also gently challenging you, celebrating your
growth, and supporting you in creating meaningful change. I hope, along the way, you can learn to find joy in the journey, not just the result.
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”
— Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person
